Boy, oh boy. Very good performance for Lebron James. Everybody is just thirsting for the Next Jordan to come into the NBA. I know Lebron is GREAT, I have to say just to defend him. But the James lovers are going to flog me over this. When he's doing what he's doing now well into his thirties, give me a call. When he has games like THAT for YEARS at a time not GAMES let me know. Then when he has a handfull of titles under his belt, once again.. let me know. Then he may be better than Jordan.

still i agree with JLR, you cant compare him with Jordan til he has the years and titles of jordan. And why does everyone want to comapre someoen to Jordan why cant they just build their own legacy?

Why would anyone ever compare him to Jordan in the first place. He's a more athletic version of Magic. Only someone that watches sportscenter and listens to all the hype would compare him to Jordan.

Titles arent everything either. Duncan is going on title 4 and will probably end up with more titles than Jordan.

The Jordan comparisons are ludicrous. Lebron is more like Magic in terms of being a big point-forward that can score the basketball in just about every way possible on the court. 4 things separate Lebron from Magic though:

1) Lebron's more athletic and a better slasher to the bucket than Magic.
2) Magic had better court vision and a knack for distributing the ball (Lebron can get better at this).
3) Magic had a better stroke from outside.
4) Lebron has no inside post-up game to speak of, Magic has started games at C and dominated in the post.

Jordan was Jordan--a prolific scorer and lockdown defender. Wasn't a great passer, but was big-time in the clutch in every facet of the game. I think Lebron's hearing all of the Jordan comparisons and he's trying to be that, when he's more Magic and could be more successful playing that style as opposed to being Jordanesque.

People always expect the next Jordan, Bird, Magic out of players now. I dont see whats wrong with being the first James, Bryant, Iverson, Wade, etc.

The game will never be what it was then. The NBA was so successful in the 80s when people were dying for a great product largely in part because the NBA struggled so much in the 70s with the ABA split and lack of marketing. The game was still great in the 70s but its sort of the way it is now. Teams like San Antonio, Detroit, Cleveland, and Utah dont have the appeal that a Celtics/Lakers rivalry had. In the 70s, the key teams were the knicks and lakers in the early 70s but after that it became Portland, Seattle, Golden State, Washington, and the Sixers. Outside of the Sixers/Blazers(Erving/Walton) series, I cant really recall too many superstar type matchups. Al Attles and Nate Thurmond versus Wes Unseld wasnt quite that caliber. I really think this year, the nba needs cleveland to play in the finals because a detroit/san antonio series is going to be about as bad as the mighty ducks versus senators, nobody would give a darn.

and btw, Carlos Boozer has had the most phenominal transformation of trash to greatness Ive ever seen. I wouldnt have traded Armando Benietez for him at one point.

Jordan was, is, and always be one of the greatest to ever play in the NBA...James is making his mark but give it a rest until he wins a bunch of MVP awards and NBA Titles...
